Sample Day
Daily Schedules vary a bit from room to room, but generally, a day proceeds as follows:
| 8:00- 9:15 | Arrival, Discovery time: Free choice among a variety of activities in the learning centers: literacy, reading, writing/listening, manipulatives, dramatic, cooking, science, sand/water, music, etc. |
| 9:15-9:30 | Clean up and Snack. |
| 9:30-10:00 | Circle time with music, stories and games to introduce the theme and its concepts. |
| 10:00-10:30 | Project time: opportunities for children to choose between 2 or 3 projects to further explore the theme and sharpen specific skills. |
| 10:30-11:30 | Outside Play |
| 11:30 - 12:10 | Washing hands, Lunch and Conversation. |
| 12:10-12:30 | Story Time. |
| 12:30-12:45 | Circle Time. |
| 12:45-2:00 | Quiet time and Rest; lying down and stretching out. Listening to soft music, looking through books. |
| 2:00-3:15 | Activities related to the theme of the week. Which might include: Music/Movement/Creative Dramatics and/or Story time. Movement to music, dance, rhythm band, bean bag and parachute activities. |
| 3:15-3:30 | Discussion of the day’s activities and planning for the next day. Preparation for dismissal and greeting parents. |
